The Village of Dannemora Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to creating and maintaining recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors. Our staff works to ensure that the village’s parks, facilities, and programs are safe, accessible, and promote health and wellness. Responsibilities include maintaining parks and facilities, as well as coordinating recreational programs and events. The department sponsors t-ball, baseball, and softball programs during the summer at our local parks. In the fall, soccer is offered, and during the winter months, basketball programs are available along with an ice rink for skating and hockey.
We're Hiring Recreation Assistants!
The work involves responsibility recreation tasks in assisting in the conduct of recreation activities at recreation or sports facilities, parks, camps, gyms, or other areas. Work is performed under direct supervision with limited leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision may be exercised over subordinates and volunteers. The incumbent does related work as required. Applicants must provide:

A valid working card from their high school

A copy of their driver’s license (front and back), if applicable

A bank account in their own name (a parent may be a cosigner, but the account must include the applicant’s name)

A smartphone for logging work hours via the Paychex app

Pickleball
Fridays 4pm-6pm
Weekday mornings Pickleball Rocks group plays 9am-11am
Open to the public they must bring their own balls & paddles. The net is already available in the gym.
Country Line Dancing
We will be offering Country Line Dancing Classes with Nancy Dow starting Monday May 6th, 2024 on Monday Nights 6pm-8pm in the gym. It is $5 per class and the money raised will be donated to the Village Beautification Committee.​

Cornhole
Open to public - no charge to participate
Equipment available at the Community Center
Wednesdays in the gymnasium during the winter months (November - April)
6:00-8:30pm (bring your own or call to get one)​

Sign-up May through July.
